Laser Cut Dice Boxes

By Poppy Mosbacher. Posted

Dungeons and Dragons fan, Wolfboxshop, has finally designed a dice box that can be entirely laser cut. Their previous attempts failed because the boxes were too fiddly to assemble or required specialist woodwork tools.

The new box is formed from 8 hexagonal layers cut out of Plywood. The layers are stuck together using Wood Glue, except for the lid which is secured with magnets.

To personalise the boxes to give to friends, Wolfboxshop used the Image Trace feature in Inkscape. This turns photos into vector paths that can be laser engraved.
